Educational Technology

Scope of Service

Absolute Computing Services provides educational technology services to individual schools, supervisory unions and state agencies. We are committed to broadening the potential of small schools to meet the needs of 21st century learners.

Our work with schools, teachers and students is guided by the National Educational Technology Standards (NETS), Partnership for 21st Century Skills, the Vermont State Technology Plan, and Vermont’s Information Technology Grade Expectations.

Our Services

Network administration:

• Infrastructure: We support the infrastructure of the computer network including the wired and wireless connections.
• Devices: We maintain servers, routers, switches, ups and firewalls.
• Network services: We support the following services: internet, user account management, file sharing, backup, content filtering.

Administrative support:

• Database design and training
• Web training
• State compliance support

Classroom support:

• Educational technology: We support teachers to think about new ways to use technology - to engage students, connect them to experts outside of the school, to develop collaboration skills, to access vast information sources and critically analyze them, to use technology to solve problems as experts in various fields do.
• Hardware: We recommend, purchase and repair computers and classroom technological tools.
• Educational software: We recommend, purchase (when necessary), maintain and train teachers to use software that meets 21 century learning goals – especially Web 2.0 tools that foster collaboration, communication and problem solving.

The Company and Employees

Absolute Computing Solutions opened in April of 2000. We currently have contracts with WSESU, WSWSU, WCSU, Marlboro College Graduate Center and the Southeastern Vermont Learning Collaborative. Our employees sit on school, district and state technology committees.

Our employees are experienced educators, holding at least Masters Degrees in Education. We are trained in educational technology, social media, Macintosh and PC computer repair, Microsoft server administration, Apple server administration.
